The berries of the sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) are one of our most unusual native fruits, and one of those most rich in content. Through a special separation procedure, it is possible to obtain a deep red oil with a pleasantly fruity aroma from the pulp which is characterised by its high palmitic and palmitoleic acid - an Omega-7 fatty acid - content. Amongst other things, it is held in high esteem due to its positive effect on the mucous membranes of the oesophagus and the gastrointestinal tract.
Applied externally, it has a beneficial effect on dry, sunburned and stressed skin. We recommend that you mix the oil to a ratio of 1:10 with jojoba or almond oil.
Caution: Due to the high carotenoid content, this substance can leave severe stains!
