Dietary feed supplement for horses in case of a selenium deficiency to support the preparation for and recovery from physical effort.
Low selenium content in the ground and therefore also in the basic feed represent the most common cause of selenium deficiency in horses. Selenium deficiency frequently causes muscle problems or tense musculature. Weak performance or a higher susceptibility to infections can also result. Through a nutritional supplement with our organically-bonded selenium for optimum utilisation, any existing deficiency symptoms can be balanced out and the selenium supply optimised. As an anti-oxidant, selenium protects the cells against destruction through harmful oxygen radicals. In addition, selenium contributes towards the formation of the thyroid hormones and the body's defence system, and is required for a relaxed skeletal and heart musculature capable of high performance.
Simple and accurate to dose. Sufficient for 50 days for a horse with a body weight of 600 kg.
Analytical contents: Crude protein 8.8 %, crude fat 1.4 %, crude ash 5.0 %, crude fibre 28.6 %, sodium 0.12 %.
Composition: Carrot powder, turmeric (Curcuma longa).
Nutritional additive/kg: 213 mg selenium in organic form from Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3060 (Nr. 3b8.10), 66,800 mg VitaminE.
Feed recommendation/day:
Large horses (600 kg LG) 10 tablets (= 1.6 mg selenium)
Smaller breeds and donkeys 5 tablets (= 0.8 mg selenium)
To compensate a deficiency in selenium administer over a period of up to 8 weeks and pause afterwards.
For sport horses: Administer over a period of up to 8 weeks before and up to 4 weeks after sports-related exertion. Due to the high level of selenium the recommended daily dosage must not be exceeded. If the horse is concurrently fed a mineral feed please take note of its selenium content as it reduces the tierlieb selenium tablets dosage accordingly.
